How Much Education Do You Need to Become a Lawyer?
There’s the occasional misconception that students immediately hop into law school out of high school. But, the thing is, law school isn’t quite as simple.
You see, first, a potential law student must complete a bachelor’s degree. Which will help with your future. Helpful degrees are often communications, philosophy, and related degrees.
After their bachelor’s, a student has to take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) to measure their aptitude for law school. If they are then enrolled in law school, there is at least another three years of learning to look forward to. Once at the end of this education, graduates must take the bar exam in order to be able to work as a lawyer. Fresh graduates usually begin as an associate, and then climb to higher positions or their own practice.
The point is, with such large exams and at least seven years of schooling, your lawyer is truly dedicated to their position as your legal protector.
How Many Fields of Law Are There?
Externally, the judicial system looks fairly simple. There are just the courthouse and two lawyers trying to win a case for their client. Sure, this is the gist of it. But a case is more complicated than that. For example, a personal injury lawyer can’t take on a case in another field, such as a divorce case. But, what are the different types of attorneys anyway?
- Personal Injury
- Estate Planning
- Intellectual Property
- Medical Malpractice
Think that’s a lot? There are so many more! But when it comes to WFCW, we handle various types of personal injury cases.
- General Personal Injury
