Kelly Englert was born and raised in the New Orleans area. She moved to Baton Rouge to attend Louisiana State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing in 2008. She attended law school at Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center and received her law degree in 2012.
Kelly was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 2012 and began her practice of law at a plaintiff’s personal injury firm in Baton Rouge, LA. Between 2014 and 2017, Kelly worked as an insurance defense attorney for Porteous, Hainkel & Johnson, a civil defense firm. During her time as an insurance defense attorney, she worked for various major insurance companies including Allstate, Shelter, GoAuto, State Farm, and Farm Bureau, focusing on personal injury, uninsured/underinsured motorist claims, and property and casualty disputes. She successfully litigated hundreds of lawsuits before joining Williamson, Fontenot, Campbell & Whittington in 2017. She has extensive litigation and trial experience in numerous parishes throughout the State of Louisiana and in most Louisiana Judicial Districts, Federal Courts and City Courts.
Kelly’s experience working as outside counsel defending insurance companies provides her with an advantage in representing people pursuing personal injury and worker’s compensation claims, especially involving those claims against insurance companies. Her background as an insurance defense attorney gives her a valuable perspective into the claims handling and case evaluation process and allows Kelly to maximize recovery for her clients.
She is admitted to practice in the State of Louisiana since 2012. She is also admitted in the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana.
